After waiting 12 days for delivery of a new office chair which was ordered on line from a big box store, I got an email today saying my order was cancelled. They couldn't get delivery from their vendor. I was anxious to get that chair as my back's been hurting from the old one.
There was another chair I saw on the big box store's website that looked okay, but would I even receive it? My level of trust was not high.
So I went on the live chat line with customer support. They woman assured me that this chair was in their warehouse and they could get it out to me in one business day. I thanked her but said I was unhappy with the cancelled order--and could she make me a happy customer of ****** big box store again? It seems she could. She issued me an online courtesy coupon for $25.00.
I learned it never hurts to ask. Will apply this lesson in future snafus with online orders.
