Amazing - this is absolutely amazing to me as we are talking of a traditional and conservative Southern State here. There are some areas where things ARE getting better to my line of thinking and I guess I need to work on remembering this as it is easy to forget - at least for me. I read on yahoo.com that the first same sex marriages have been performed in Arkansas already - I've been finishing projects and getting ready for next week's final exams so I have not been keeping up with the news much but this one is WOW! Some friends in Eureka Springs posted a bunch of photos from the courthouse there this morning. It was packed.

Glad to hear there will be less discrimination in the country!

Rob - I remember thinking the same thing "WOW" when Iowa passed a law to allow same-sex marriages. Hope more states will follow suit.

It seems to be inevitable--if voters or legislators won't do it, judges are stepping up, citing the Equal Protection Clause. And all this clamor about "one man, one woman" can only be defended using religious dogma--which is clearly a non-starter. I'm pretty chuffed to live in a state where voters rose to the challenge.

Looks like it's temporarily halted. http://www.nbcnews.com/#/news/us-news/same-sex-marriage-halted-arkansas-again-n107721

These bigots won't give up without a fight.

It will be a symbolic one; forward momentum is inevitable.
