Check out your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate for a ReStore.

This is a store that resells many, many useful items for the home at bargain basement prices. The majority of products are preowned.

I am looking to replace my kitchen faucet. It was not in stock but stock shifts weekly. I did see a range of windows, floor and wall tiles, lamps, brackets, some furniture, appliances, paint and kitchen cabinetry.

I did purchase a wooden folding rack for drying clothes $2.50 and a little sunshine does the rest.

I second this place. Some of the building centers will send outgoing items there (ours had a BUNCH of new/last years model front loader GE washing machines, that when Restore finally blew out for $25 new and I was tempted). I've seen and bought, knobs, wood, vents, tile, plumbing bits and granite.

Our Restore sells gross $500,000 worth of recycled materials per year. They have everything from whole kitchens to vintage tiles.

Yes, I love browsing in our Restore. Even paint - sometimes almost full gallons. Lots of goodies.

There is one 4 miles from my house......I'm so glad they are not open every day.
