I'm not very computer savvy, so I may not even ask this question very well.
Earlier today I noticed that my PC speaker wasn't working right. In trying to make sure everything was plugged in, I accidentally pulled out the main plug that makes it work. I plugged that back in and everything worked right again. But.......now on many of the pages, some of the letters look darker than others. Some are sort of bold, while others are not. I must have done something funky to it when I was wrastling with the screen, trying to get behind it.
Any ideas what happened and how I might fix it?

Thanks!

You don't say how the speakers are hooked up. Are they a separate cable or are they through a HDMI cable? I would say you probably loosened the monitor cable on either end.

The speaker is attached to the bottom of the screen.
This is an example of how things look to me:
This is what it looks like.

Cathy, please don't take this the wrong way, but you have the most interesting computer problems. :~)

I'm having a hard time visualizing the relationship between your speakers and your monitor although I'd suspect one has nothing to do with the other. It's my guess that TooMuchStuff is correct in that you've somehow degraded the video cable connection.

Try disconnecting the monitor and then re-connecting, ensuring that you have a good, solid connection. If that doesn't correct the problem, let's troubleshoot a bit and determine if the problem exists within all programs such as your default browser, a word processor and an email client. If it is limited to one program, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer, it's probably not hardware related, but the software.

LOL Alan..........I have LOTS of all kinds of interesting problems, not even related to computers! But, if you'll remember, I am an alien. :)

Actually, when I asked DH to look at it this morning, he shut the computer down and when he started it back up, the problem was gone! So who knows what it was!
But thanks Alan and TooMuchStuff. I'm sure there will be more problems you can help me with in the future!
