Here's a stunner: Eric Cantor, House Majority leader and a political conservative, was defeated by a conservative opponent who spent only $200,000. Wow, major upset.

That Congressional district in VA is serious about their conservatives being conservative, I guess. Good for them.

Given Congress's popularity rating, it's amazing any incumbents make it through the primaries.

And isn't the winner a Tea Party person?

The guy who won said it was a "Gift from god".

Yes, he's even more of a tea party person!

And isn't the winner a Tea Party person?
He's a Professor of Economics at Virginia's Randolf Macon college and seems to have the support of many adherents of Tea Party principles.

Rumor has it that the Democratic Party in his district supported him in the primary in hopes that he would eliminate Cantor and then lose in the mid-term to whatever flavor of Democrat may be on the ballot. If so, I think they shot themselves in the foot. ;)
