Hmmm.....seems like it's drawing an even bigger target across the U.S. to bring him to Washington. Couldn't we have dealt with him somewhere else? Maybe that wouldn't have made any difference......but dang.

I think this is interesting on so many levels. Dude has apparently been hiding in plain sight for the past 19 months, sitting down in public places for interviews with American and International news outlets. I wonder why it took our government so long to pick him up? And why now?

The decision to try him in a criminal court rather than a military court is also interesting. If it were a simple law enforcement matter, why did the military go in to get him and why is he being interrogated on a ship in international waters prior to being Mirandized? It's like we can't make up our mind if he's a military combatant or some reckless youth caught up in a violent act.

Personally, I'd send him to Gitmo and allow the military as much time as they need to gather information prior to trying him in a military setting. I'm afraid though that there's been too much political posturing on the subject to allow that even if bringing him to this country and allowing him the opportunity to get off on a technicality puts our citizens at risk. To me, that shows that we don't have the political will to treat the "War on Terror" as a real war, which leads me to believe we have no interest in winning it.
