I'm a minimalist at heart always have been but like always life got in the way....it got more complicated than I'd like, but I'm going to be moving states from Florida to Pennsylvania so I decided to take this opportunity to give into my minimalist/ declutterer nature.

its always been a goal of mine to live simpler. I may not be what alot of people call ay think of as a minimalist....certainly not from what I've been reading online (there are some really elitist minimalists out there) my goal is to make myself comfortable while still deeming what I declare as necessary....I.E. still owning a car because of where I live, or keeping what I consider the minimal amount of technology I require for my life/job/extracurricular activities.

This is what I have

Bathroom: http://imgur.com/a/BadIL this list is still WIP I feel like there are to many items..also I didnt put my razor on this list, but not a big deal

Furniture: http://imgur.com/a/fNtxO this list is missing something to put my hanging clothes in, and some under the couch storage for regular clothes...the fireplace also acts as a heater for winter.

Kitchen: http://imgur.com/a/bmjMh the red grill is coming off this list, debating if i want a small set of storage containers...most food would be bought on an as needed basis

Technology: http://imgur.com/a/zsDFM I will probably be removing the printer and camera. I rarely ever print anything...if I need something printed that badly I'll go to the library. And I have a camera on my phone..so duh. Missing from this is a bluetooth keyboard for my tablet...I wont be having a pc/laptop, so a keyboard makes it simpler.

Another list that is still in progress is usefull stuff I.E. a toolkit etc.

And the only other list of stuff that's missing is stuff for my car, like jumper cables/emergency kit etc.

As it is right now, with what I have on my Imgur account, I could live in a one room house with just a bathroom and a kitchenette area (sink, no microwave or oven or anything more than a minifridge)

But I've come to a stumbling block...clothes, they are the thing I find hardest to get down because of my hobbies and life.

It boils down to this

3 suits (blue/black/grey...a possible 4th brown)
1 Blazer
1 winter jacket (leather)
1 winter dress jacket
2 white dress shirts
3 other dress shirts (blue/black/grey...possible 4th green)
1 pair nice slacks (grey)
4 pairs of jeans (3 regular 1 for work)
2 pairs of workout clothes
1 pair of swimming trunks
10 white t-shirts
5 pairs of dress socks
2 pairs of short black socks
5 pairs of long black sock
10 pairs of underwear
3 casual button down shirts (plaid with sleeves I can roll)
3 colored t-shirts (blue/black/grey)
1 heavy duty work shirt
1 pair of nice sneakers
1 pair of workout sneakers
1 pair of work boots
1 pair of dress shoes
1 pair of sandals
1 pair of snow boots
1 pair of winter gloves (touch sensitive)
1pair of work gloves
1 scarf
1 pair of earmuffs
1 hardhat
(Possible 1 winter hat)
1 set of work glasses
1 set of safety glasses
1 set of reading glasses
1 belt (maybe 2...1 for dress 1 for work)
6 ties (various colors)

It feels like to much to me, but I cant find anythign really unneeded

Hi JGH,

Sounds like you know where you are with the minimalist lifestyle you are living and pretty much from what you wrote...what your goals are! Good luck with your move to PA. Used to live there for about four years in Northumberland County. Good luck with your move!

Hi JGH and welcome! Is that your apt/tiny house in the photos? Very cute. You should post those photos on the Tiny House thread in the Housing forum as many of us minimalists (and some non-minimalists) really love small houses. I'm a minimalist - and probably would be considered an somewhat extyreme minimalist - except that my sister and I own a house together and she is a clutter-bug who has lots of stuff so we kind of balance each other out. But eventually I go back to my minimalist way and get a tiny apt and have only the basics.

Thanks, yeah it was a boring day today. That's mostly why I made up lists instead of leaving them on my bookmark bar. The only thing i might change is go with a samsung compact fridge instead of a generic mini fridge and probably the most unnecessary thing I'd own is workout sturf like adjustable dumbbell set and a pull up bar, if i had space

I wish that was my tiny house, I'm currently looking for an apartment in Pennsylvania that is an efficiency or maybe something smaller. my move isn't for a few more months at least so I'm checking out the area and seeing what small studio or efficiency apartments I can find, maybe even a tiny house. they are surprisingly hard to find in that area lots of one bedroom apartments but no studios or efficienies

so I still need to pick out which clothes I plan on owning (I want to choose quality over quantity obviously)

but for the most parts my lists are all done, if anyone else can think of anything I'm missing or you think I can cutback on let me know.
