That was good Razz. Thanks for sharing it.
So true. I think about this even more lately whenever I go online. The attempt to "steal my soul" through the incessant advertising has me thinking about not using it anymore. It remains my dream to remain true to the tenets of simple living - it is just so hard in this culture and one often remains an outcast for doing so.
Agree with this article. Another reason why when I hear the word "consumer" I substitute the word "citizen" in my head because I don't want to live in a world where are defined solely by what we own.

That was excellent. Thank you razz.
Xmac shared this same article last week, and the author himself signed on and commented...

Catherine, I didn't notice it in the Spirituality forum. I rarely go there so missed it. I saw it as a consumerism vs simple living issue while the other thread saw it very differently which goes to show that it was a good link for both.

When I hear people complain about too much advertising on the internet it makes me want to scream. AAAHHHH!!! It's a pet peeve!!! AAAHHH!!! :) It's not the internet, it's that your not doing it right!!! AHHHH!!! But I'm somewhat techie (technie enough for IT work) and many people aren't. I just wish people would first try a browser with ad blocking - use "ad-block edge" or "ad-block plus" add ons - they install easily. I think they install on Chrome. They also install on Firefox (and "ad-block plus" even installs on a few other lesser known Mozilla browsers). I know that overall they hope for the gullible for ad click throughs for their revenue (although how much revenue they really bring is doubtful) but you personally can avoid it.
Ok that's not what the article is about mainly, the actual article is a long topic that one could think a lot about.
