A professor at a college in Austin, TX, is living in a dumpster (http://www.cnet.com/news/dumpster-living-professor-out-to-make-a-point/#ftag=CAD590a51e).

Normally I applaud this kind of stunt--and the professor kind of admits it's a stunt--if it brings attention to environmental issues. But in this case I'm not sure I see the point. He's not really living in the dumpster, he just spends some nights there, and he has all the conveniences of modern life available in university buildings nearby. If he really wanted to make a point about simple living and reducing one's carbon footprint, something like a tiny house would have made the point better. Finally, somer is a-cumin in, and in Austin, spending time in a metal container in 100-plus degree heat might not just be uncomfortable, it could be dangerous.
