I have a few dip recipes but don't have good ideas for the crackers. I have used Ritz (different kinds) and Blue Diamond Nut Thins (different kinds) and Wheat Thins. Any that are go tos or ones you make yourself???

Haha... this is a topic you'd only see on a simple living forum. I love that we chat about things like dip crackers (and I'm being serious).

As for me, I'm a Triscuits or a Carr's Water Cracker gal--but for dipping, I really like pita chips, and actually, if I'm being good, I just cut up the celery and carrots! Nothing beats that if you have a good dip.

Ditto on the pimiento cheese, Alan!

Frugal, the new Triscuit brown rice/black pepper are really good with dip.

I like Frito's scoops, pita chips and pita crackers. I also like the Keebler club minis.

I remember being very fond of Carr's water crackers with sesame seeds.

I'm with Fidel, the new Triscut Brown rice with sea salt and pepper I think is th he healthiest way to go. They are so good I could eat the whole bag!

I usually have home made oatcakes in the cupboard, with an emergency box of Carr's water biscuits!

I like Stoned Wheat Thins or Ak-Mak crackers...but I'm trying to go low carb, so I go with carrots and celery.

I buy day old whole wheat pita at the Mid East store, separate the pita into two circles, slice those into chips and bake at 225 for 20 min. I can make quite a few chips out of one pack of pitas. They are thin, crispy and hold up well to being dipped, especially good with hummus.

I used to make my own pita chips too.........cut pita bread into small wedges, then brush with oil, salt, rosemary, thyme and bake. They are very good........but a fair amount of work, compared to buying them already made.

I like crudites, too--cauliflower and cucumber are good for dipping--but this thread has me thinking about making my own crackers. Something with sesame, maybe. I just made walnut/spinach pesto and it would be nice to have crackers to go with it. Off to Google recipes.

Wow... great response. I haven't heard about some of these crackers and had no idea what oatcakes were??? I had to look it up on Wikipedia. I have lots of ideas now! Thanks~

I don't like any kind of cream-based dip (but do like salsa and guacamole and hummus) but do like crackers with veggies on them. Probably something like Carrs Water Bisquits that are kind of bland. For "naked" crackers I prefer Ritz - buttery and salty! I also love sweet bisquits - as in sweet crackers (i.e. cookies). Digestives are my favorite. But now that I think of it, I haven't actually had crackers or bisquits in a really really long time (years?)

Yea I've sometimes gotten the trader joe's version of this, I like the plain and the black pepper ones, prefer black pepper. I prefer chips though. Corn chips, ok sometimes potato chips (TJs has all the best chips too). I mostly don't get any of those things very often though, because temptation. Then again I'll eat guacamole plain with a spoon :)
