View Full Version : September 100 items
Any month is a great month to declutter. So let's go for another 100 items out of the house for the month of September.
2 jackets
1 tacky plastic "gold" trophy.
Running total: 3 items.
I didn't make it too 100 in August, but I'll join again for September!
New month, new challenge, I'm in!
3 - bottles of wine going to my cousin's party this afternoon/evening (these have been in my cupboard for 4 years- it's really great wine, but I don't drink by myself and I don't entertain at home). Looking forward to enjoying them with good friends/extended family.
I would like to join, but not do the counting thing, OK? I cleaned out the medicine cabinet today and threw away some cosmetics I don't like that were just taking up space. It's nice and clean in there now and a lot less cluttered.

Took 10 items to the thrift shop and then I found a great pair of Levi slim fit jeans ($2) and a super nice skirt ($1). I'm going to be more honest about what comes in counts against what goes out.
Well darn. I had 2 hours to kill yesterday while in town and I ended up at the outlet mall. 2 pair of shoes, a purse, 3 shirts, and 1 sweater later....
So I went home and hit my closet and pulled 14 items. So 8+14=22-7new items= 15 to date.
In my defense I have lost weight this summer and I will have more fall/winter items to unpack and go through. Things that are 2 sizes too big will have to be replaced. I'm just making sure that what I am buying are things that I really like, that work well together, and I'm staying within a few colors so more things work together instead of having a lot of orphan items.
5 more clothing items. I keep adding rules if I try something on and am not happy 101% it's going in the thrift shop or consignment box. A day is just too long to be wearing something I'm not completely comfortable in either style or color.
4 matted photos, 1 clock, 2 sewing rulers, and 1 vintage typewriter added to the antique/flea booth. We still have 5 vintage typewriters but this one was a duplicate.
I'm up to 28 for the month.
I pulled out my fall/winter clothes and so far I've added another 20 items to the consignment box so that brings me to 48 for the month.
I stopped by and picked up my antique/flea booth check yesterday. I expected August to be slow but was surprised to see I'd made $55 after paying for September's booth fee. I took a peek at what I've already sold in September and I'm in profit margin again. I need to get more items to the booth.
Well I have completely lost count, 27 dustbin liners in the first load and 2 more loads since then, I have only done half the house but feeling so much better for it. The charity shop I took it all to is called EACH. East Anglia Children's Hospice. So its a really good cause and I can close drawers and cupboards now without stuff falling out!
Good job Davidwd!

Took 6 more items to the antique/flea market
Added another 20 clothing items to consignment box. Now I need to either get to the consignment shop or just drop it off at my favorite thrift shop.
that's 74 items. I need to give it a little push to make it to 100 this month.

I am with you all in spirit if not in actual counting mode.
I get rid of stuff, but refuse to count it. And while I may not do that every month, this month I DID get rid of clothes. Next month is will be something else.
