I know this info is available online, and I've looked at it, but my mind isn't understanding it. So....if someone could help me, I'd sure appreciate it.
How do I transfer pictures from my iPhone 5C to my computer?

I updated the phone software just now, so that's progress for me! Ever since I erased my phone by trying to transfer pictures, I've been afraid of doing anything with it. But it appears I upgraded the software okay. Unfortunately, it took an hour and a half!
Okay........I'm listening. I hope it's easy!
Thanks!

Well, it depends ... what OS do you have on your computer? And would you like to transfer only photos that you have taken with your iPhone or some other pictures as well?

I personaly find managing content on iPhone and transferring data to and from iPhone and computer very inconvenient when using the "official" solutions that Apple suggests. I mostly use Syncios to do this type of things - it's free and very, very easy to use.

My computer's system is Windows XP.........is that what you meant?
I only want to move the pics from my iphone 5C to my computer. I will look up Syncios.

That's what I meant. When you open My Computer and double-click on the iPhone icon, go to Internal Storage, then to DCIM and open 100APPLE. You should be able to copy your photos from there to your PC hard drive. I cannot test it now but I believe this only works for photos that you have taken with your iPhone. It probably won't work if you would like to copy pictures that you have got from somewhere else. If you want to work with those I really suggest Syncios or other sw. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Okay.......I went to "My Computer" and clicked on "My phone", and all my pictures from the phone came up. I highlighted them and on the top of of the page it had either "move to" or "copy to", and I chose "copy to"........It appeared to be doing something. But when I go to "my pictures" in my computer, they aren't there.
What would they be called, if I didn't name them when they were in my iphone?

When you selected Copy To ... did it offer you option to select where to copy it to?

Maybe you could try highlighting the pictures, than right click on them and select Copy. Then open My Pictures folder in your computer, right click somewhere and select Paste. Would that work for you?

Thanks meri........that way worked.......at least for a little while, then my computer rebelled and froze! So I think I'll do a few at a time in the future.

Is it possible to give each picture a name when I first take it (with my iphone)? Because now I'll have to go through all of them (on the computer) and give them names (with dates, etc.).
I take TONS of pictures! I probably should do most of them with my big camera, but when I'm out riding my golf cart around our big property, I'm always seeing neat things, but don't always have my camera with me.
I was hoping to transfer all the pics at once, but I think I'd better just do 1 row at a time.....otherwise my computer will start smoking. :)
I appreciate your help!

I'm glad it worked.

Unfortunately I don't think you can name pictures directly in your phone's Albums / Camera Roll. There are some applications (a lot of photo-editing apps are free on iTunes) that enable you to name the pictures but I believe that the new names only remain within those applications and don't apply to the pictures themselves when you view them in regular Albums or your PC if that makes sense.

Once you have copied your pictures over to your PC and you are viewing them in MyPictures directory, you can go to the left top of your screen where there should be a menu bar with View menu. If you select Details in this menu, you should be able to see the list of your pictures with their details which include "Date". This should make it very easy for you to see when the picture was taken if you need that info for your older pictures. You can then just switch back to View - Medium Icons or whatever your preferred view mode is.
