HI everyone, I have been doing other things for awhile, actually a long while. Still missing you guys here, there is not always the understanding in the rest of the world. And now my closest local friend is being launched to an off the grid farm for a wonderful new adventure and I may have a friend gap locally in my simple living support. Seems like a good time to come support and chat.

It's great to hear from you, Zoe Girl! I was worried. I believe there was some type of natural disaster in your state around the time you disappeared, so I'm glad you aren't buried under a mudslide or something! :)

Thanks all, pretty stable and all. Only one kid left in the house! (and toads and cats and a couple snakes) I will be posting and responding to catch up. I have been wondering how everyone is doing as well.

Yeah, ZG-you dropped off right around a year ago and we were all a little worried you'd had flood issues. Glad to see you're back!

I didn't want to worry anyone, all my life issues have nothing to do with excessive water, Actually that is totally wrong, so funny story

I went on a retreat day with a group I was supporting in the middle of their week long retreat. It was a nature based retreat with the nun I work with who lives in Colorado Springs with people from all over the country, one from Australia too I think. So on that day a couple of us planned to come and drive the group to a hiking site farther from their usual place, pretty awesome. We hiked about an hour, ate lunch, and then we had 3 whole hours to practice at about 10,000 ft elevation. I did one meditation, then a long walking exploration and was sitting down for a long meditation in such a wonderful spot when it started to rain, then a little more. Some thunder started in the distance as well. I didn't want to go to the meet site but I know Colorado weather and you don't mess with it. So we all gathered and by that time it was pouring rain, but one person was missing. We sent down part of the group including me, my knees of my pants were dripping it was raining so hard. Thunder and lightning was pretty awesome as well. And of course no cell phone service to check in with our group. So we all eventually got down, my pants had actually started to dry by the time the last person got to the trailhead. And then the missing person apologized. She had been enjoying the energy of the storm and just sat through it instead of going to the meet up when it got intense. That included a lightning strike that made one guy jump and dive! We agreed that we needed to have very clear directions next time for non-Coloradoans on this type of retreat.

I have no idea if that is a funny story to anyone else but it was as close to a flood story as I had.

Wow, yeah. I can see watching from the window of a vehicle or building but uh, not out in the middle of the storm! Bet that was Lightning Awareness week tee hee.

I gave our nun a ride home the other night, we are going to investigate the cost of walkie talkies, :)
