I 'liked' burda style on facebook (a pattern company) and they have the best patterns. Here is one that I need a hot date or a fancy job in order to sew.

and this one is rated novice level but still looks great

That first grey number is elegant!
I sew a little, but only household items and dog costumes. Back when I was a teenager I made a few garments, it was the rage for all of my friends, but that interest didn't stick.

:spam:Why in gods name are we discussing THIS trivial matter, when the Scottish Independence issue has not yet been resolved?

Because this is the Hobby forum topic. Go back and haunt the Open or Public Policy forums.

I like the first one too....but by the time I was done trying to sew that drape it would probably look like a sack of potatoes on me. I sewed a lot of my own clothes from 6th grade through high school but anymore I stick to drapes, pillows, aprons, dog beds, and I have a wicked napkin sewing therapy (I probably have 300 napkins that I switch out). When stressed or upset I slam the door to the sewing/laundry room and whip out 6 more napkins. I keep a huge pottery bowl full on the kitchen table.
