I have an old sweatshirt that was always one of my favorites......but it has some holes.
But..........the decoration on the front is so beautiful. It's a dark blue sweatshirt, with a winter scene with goldfinches in some weeds. It's really a lovely scene. I would like to put just the image into a frame. How would I do that? Would I cut it out and then mount it with pins like I would a cross-stitch project, and then frame it once it was attached to something like a foam board?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Yes, You should be able to do so just fine. Even cardboard from a large enough sturdy box would work if you didn't want to spend the money on foam core board.
Think about framing and matting size options when cutting it out as that can get crazy expensive.

Show us the finished piece when you're done :)

People frame tshirts and jerseys all the time. I don't see why you can't do it to a sweatshirt. Hope your project is going well.

If you have a Hobby Lobby, they have frames ready-to-go that are designed especially for this purpose. I made a few sweatshirts and T-shirts into tote bags to extend my enjoyment of these favorite items. You can find all kinds of instructions for doing this on-line for different styles of bags.

Thanks everyone! I don't want to use the whole sweatshirt.....just the design on it. It's just beautiful............goldfinches on weeds with snow on them, on a dark blue background. Seemed like too nice of art to be on a sweatshirt! It will look great on the wall.

Hi Cathy -
I was thinking that sweatshirt might make a pretty throw pillow.
