Well I did it!!! I sold about 2/3 of what I had out there and in 4 hours of sweating in 100% humidity, I made $120. The rest is going to donation.

The crazy thing is I am putting the house back together and I have cleaned out another bag of stuff. OH MY!!! I am on a roll

The great part is hubby is onboard, which is huge. He is very encouraging and not judging me. I love it!!!

That is a very good event, getting rid of 2/3 of it. And getting money to boot!

Get rid of it all!

Yard sales are such hard work. Glad you made some money from it. Good job!

Congratulations on making some money, but I'm sure the best part is that you don't have to box it all up and haul it any where. The last time I had a yard sale, I put up a 10 cent sign at about 2pm. A woman came by, stopped to verify, said she'd be back and did come back with 2 friends with trucks! They counted, paid for, and loaded up every single item- one man even swept the driveway for me! That was the best part of the whole day because it was DONE!!

Another truck load off to Goodwill- the remnants of the yardsale and the a few extras I threw in. Hubby even allowed me to put his 2004 tv and trunk in there. He was even smiling!!! WOOT WOOT!! We have moved that thing 10x in 10 years and now it's gone. YEAH!!!

Great thing is, we are finally getting the bedroom furniture we want. I am so excited!!! Just a headboard and box base and then an extra tall dresser with deep drawers. Can't wait!!

Excellent job, GreenMama. It's true that being able to make the money from your sale and clearing out the space will allow you get something you really want and will use - a real motivator to do these types of things.

Your posts are encouraging.

I'm doing a major clear out for a big move (retirement).

It rains all the time here, so the yard sale will be indoors after the moving truck is packed.

First day will be Food Bank Only patrons. All is free. For best items (power drill, full set of dishes, dresser, wood file cabinets, etc) the FoodBank guys and I will have bowls for name draws. And the FB guys know all the real patrons so sneaky ppl won't get in.

Second day yard sale will be for the public and I'm keepin' that cash.

Anything left goes to charity.

This happens in 2 - 3 weeks. I'm making progress but still lots to do!
