Hello, everyone--My best friend will be celebrating a milestone birthday (50) in a little over a month.
I would like to make some kind of a self-care kit for her. She is very stressed out and going through a bad time in her life.

Needless to say :) I can't spend a lot on the kit. So, I'm looking for suggestions to include in the kit.

Thank you!!

I used to keep a small stress kit in my desk at work at another company. In it, I had some lavender lotion in a small container (I actually used a contact lens case), a silky piece of fabric (because I'm tactile), a couple of cards of breathing/stress reduction exercises (from one of the 52 things card decks), some aromatherapy oil, and an individually wrapped piece of dark chocolate.

I had a kit like that at my old job, and it included some perfume, some essential oils, a back-scratcher, a stress ball, a giant bottle of ibuprofen, and some great little packets of instant Starbucks coffee!

I had a stressful job and would huff this stuff like glue :)

mtnlaurel, they sell that brand in a market near my house. I have the spearmint oil. I will look for the one you liked!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Music calms me down quick. Soft jazz and Eric Satie.

If I were in your shoes, I would put together a list of website addresses for websites that broadcast free the type of music that calms your friend.

If stress is work-related, perhaps buy a little pair of earphones to go with the list.

1. Essential Oils.
2. Eye Mask
3. Soy or Beeswax candle is calming scent- nothing heavy.
4. Nice water bottle.
5. Organic tea packets.

What makes her smile?

I need to think about that some more.

This set of body oils from Weleda is great: Weleda Body Oil Essentials (http://www.amazon.com/Weleda-Body-Essentials-2-04-Ounce/dp/B001R19ZAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412353485&sr=8-1&keywords=weleda+body+oil+essential)

If it were me, I'd like a good book, a nice (not particularly expensive) pen, and a sage bundle - the kind you burn for cleansing rituals.
