It seems like so much of my time lately is spent in trying to correct someone's mistake. We have horrible reception (landline) on our phone and it can't be fixed without digging a new cable for about 1/5 mile........so I've gone to a cell phone emergency phone (yes I have another cell phone). But I spent almost 45 minutes the other day in an online "chat" with AT&T about our past bills (really high for no reason). He was totally incompetent. Finally, after 30 minutes, he sent me on to his "supervisor"......who was supposed to call my cell phone, but called my landline instead........which was useless. Finally, after waiting 5 minutes on online chat with him, a message came up saying their system wasn't working.

Then, I ordered more cpap supplies and they got the first order wrong. Then, they got something else wrong. Then our previous insurance company (Anthem) screwed up and didn't end our insurance when we told them too (and we haven't been paying them) and now our new insurance isn't paying for things because they say we have 2 insurances. We're waiting to hear back from Anthem.......but it's taking awhile. Meanwhile all our bills are getting messed up. And Kroger is selling ground beef that has an additive, but they won't say what it is.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
It is sooooooooooo wonderful when someone gets it right. Too bad we can't be assured of always getting that particular "representative" from a particular company.

How does this world even continue to turn, when so many people are incompetent?????

Makes one happy the Darwin awards exist and wish there was less protection from themselves, doesn't it?
Thankfully, the world doesn't turn by people, and so much other stuff is run/automated by computer (and fixed by competent computer people when ijit's screw things up).
That's what happens when people settle for good enough.

Yep. Consider it a miracle of design that our world keeps spinning regardless of all this (lack of) effort.

Sometimes I wonder how many things go right in a day...it's amazing in a world as complex as we have.

Amazing timing. I was visiting my BFF this evening on her deck and we pretty much had this same conversation. She'd been having troubles with her bank, and cell phone provider, and I told my story of dealing with morons manning the satellite TV company's phones.....

.....and it hit me, and I said to her "but hey sweetie, we've both got enough money to pay those bills, even if the billing is screwed up, and we're both going in tonight to plenty of foodstuffs for supper, and a hot bath or shower, and after dark we have light at the flip of a switch, and if it gets cold overnight the central heat will kick in".....

And we both laughed and smiled and realized how silly and petty we'd been being. It was great. A true moment.

I love that woman.
