The ban on same-sex marriage fell. Seriously. Wow!!!!! I am just so floored, absolutely floored, even thought I was expecting this soon I am still floored! I googled this about 15 minutes ago and called my boyfriend who didn't know and he was stunned too. In Arizona! So for all the complaining I have done, something monumental and good has happened that affects me personally and for once I have to say I am grateful. Can't wait to see the pics of the happy couples, both male and female, from all over the state!

That's great Rob! I figure most states will eventually remove any bans to same-sex marriage. Hope it doesn't go the way it did in Cali though. Lots of opposition and back and forth to repeal and then re-instate the ban.

I saw that this morning and there was some concern that the Attorney General would step in to somehow block the decision, but an hour ago he came out and said he wouldn't. Good for him.

Congratulations to Arizona! And all the states that have seen bans drop. It's a snowball Rob, and it's rolling through all 50 states. Aren't you glad you stuck around to see it? :)

Congratulations, Arizona. I was looking at the pictures before and it was very moving.

You were right Rob! I'm curious to see how many gay people stay married, and how many get divorced. It's such a high percentage that split in the straight world...

Wonderful, long overdue. Heard an interview on the radio with the first gay couple to take advantage of this and they got married at 12 noon today. They had been together for 16 years. Very moving.

DH actually came out of his man cave to tell me about this as it happened. I was so heartened by it ... it gave me hope. I'm not that involved in gay rights, but it has seemed to me that the vast majority of people here have no ill will toward gay marriage, and the scene was dominated by a relatively few hostile voices battling the gay community for no rational reason. It's nice to know that loud lobbying for the wrong things doesn't always pay off, I'm so pleased with this common sense affirmation of human rights.
