So I did another volunteer mediation, this one a truancy case. Very interesting family dynamics but the process was positive overall. Everyone was engaged. There was a lawyer there as part of the process, for the family however she was the toughest on them. I am seeing that in mediation there is someone who seems to not be facing reality very well in the process.

I have found that so far I have like the direct style of several of the female lawyers I have worked with. There was one male lawyer in my training who was hard to mediate with but a decent guy. I know there are lots of crappy lawyers but I am experiencing many great ones. So this is a place to maybe grow into career wise, I am still super scared that I will not be able to do this because there are so many lawyers already to compete with in mediation, or since there are free mediations through the volunteer services that no one will want to pay for it, or that I will be too new. Education is low paying, low opportunities right now but also safe.

No worries about me making a huge change yet, I have to work in public service of some form for 7 more years to get my student loans forgiven!

Well there's only one way that you'll definitely not be able to do it, and that's by not doing it. If this turns out to be something you really enjoy doing, then you'll be able to find a way!

You are right, the weeks I do a mediation are really super busy but so far I have really liked it. Can't hurt to keep it up
