Today the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the lawsuit by Republican legislators against Expanded Medicaid may proceed. Now I don't read the future, that much is true, but right about now I'm feeling quite pleased with myself for having the foresight to keep my Medical connections in Mexicali current.....I have no faith that expanded Medicaid will stand after this lawsuit is said and done. Going to get any appointments for anything covered as soon as I can while the coverage still exists - this lawsuit of course will take some time to wind through the court - and then I will bank on Mexico for all health care from there on out until such a date as I immigrate out of the US.

I do have to say however, I am not bitter. I fully expected this and I'm glad so many people I know have been able to get tests and medications and surgeries and have health issues addressed. Now it is up to us to offshore our health care if and when Expanded Medicaid is discontinued.

I will sit back with interest if and when this happens - a lot of people in Arizona - a fairly low wage state to begin with - don't have much invested in the system and don't have much to lose - take away the health care from such people - interesting things can happen. I will wait and see what transpires with interest, offshoring myself for moral, ethical, and financial reasons of course.

Happy New Years everyone, BTW. Rob

Happy New Year, Rob. Looks like this lawsuit is like most of these things - it's being pushed on a technicality about whether it was a new tax and therefore required by the state legislature to have been passed with a supermajority.

What's ironic is that health care generates jobs, the one thing everyone says they want, but their ideology prevents them from even admitting that much. If the outcome means thousands get dumped off of Medicaid, I can only imagine the chaos that will ensue: lost of medical care, and the medical professionals loss of jobs, and the economic domino effect from all of that.

Let's hope that none of this happens.
