View Full Version : Decluttering Your Wallet/Purse
In particular note that if it is lost or stolen the more credit cards, etc there were in it the more things you need to worry about in terms of identity/financial theft.
I carry in my purse:
Student's ID, which also is the tram and bus ticket for the semester
credit card
fitness club card
staff badge for work
enough cash for few days
library card
health insurance card
organ donor card
I do not carry:
my ID (never need it unless I leave Germany)
driving license (I don't have a car)
I use a very small leather pouch for this, it is just the size of the cards and fits into my pockets easily.

I also have a photo copy (both sides) of cards (debit/credit/membership), drivers license, insurance, etc...... (same for hubby's wallet contents) in a safe place at home. That way I know who I would have to contact and/or cards I need to replace with the exact numbers. The technology for a cardless society is just around the corner, and none too soon.

Nice reminder lessisbest. I very much need to do this again - it's been years.
As for decluttering my purse.....I subscribe to the Boy Scouts of America motto in that area of my life.
If I lost my purse, I'd be more upset by the hassle it will be to replace my license/registration, credit cards, etc.
The one thing I'd hate to lose is this little plastic container---it's flat and rectangular and has four separate sections on the inside. It's perfect for holding my different flavored Xylitol candies and gum. Got it from someone in nursing school (it's from a drug company) and doubt if I'd find something the same.
Hardly any cash to speak of. My $20 cell phone. My calendar. Not much else of value.
