i will admit i spent a good chunk of the weekend putting ice on a bruised bum and watching Buffy, i did have a deep thought while observing the high school part of the show, there are all these kids together all the time and sometimes they are attracted to each other, other times they don't know the other person is alive (or undead), and then the real drama comes when the attractions are mismatches. But what the heck, you just walk into a room and one person stands out and the rest don't.

i guess i don't expect any big answers, i am realizing how weird attraction and relationships kinda are

And then there's attraction that borders on repulsion, like wanting to know better the person whose behaviors are totally unlike yours and possibly even not fathomable. Or the interest everyone seems to have in driving past an accident on the highway....

I think it's really one of the mysteries of the universe!

That has to be it. When I met the man I eventually married, I was immediately 'attracted' to him and yes, he stood out in the crowd (church foyer). I was older when we met and had dated a lot but when 'our eyes first met', I knew he was the one. 'Tis true.

My SO were attracted to each other at first sight. Unfortunately, he was taken at the time (but not for long).

I like to think we knew each other in a previous life (perhaps I was one of his Inquisitors :~)).

I've never been attracted to a type--unless "not too tall" is a type. I like kind, funny, honest men, mostly.

it is so weird, i agree with the mystery thing. my ex-husband immediately annoyed me, then he just kept hanging around and grew on me. funny when i look at that. A boyfriend i had was immediate attraction, more in the lust relationship category but it was a good shorter relationship. it was not a type or a person i had ever been attracted to before but seemed to fit at the time.

hmm, well it is interesting.

My single and married friends were just discussing this kind of thing...finding the right person. There is just no right answer for everyone.
I had 3 rules, I wouldn't date a guy if he was any of three things and in the end I ended up with a guy who is/was all three, we met in a bar and have been happily married for 14 years.

I'm still shocked by it all and clearly I don't have any answers either.

I came from a funeral today (will be in another post) and I am not a religious person, but reading this struck me with one of the Proverbs that was used:

18 (http://biblehub.com/proverbs/30-18.htm)Three things cause wonder for me;
four are beyond my understanding:
19 (http://biblehub.com/proverbs/30-19.htm)The way an eagle flies in the sky,
the way of a serpent on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a young woman.

Just to show it is an OLD question.
