which should take the edge off of another thing at work i am cringing about
one is about camp, i am working on an ambitious summer camp proposal with some people who do programming at the middle school close to me. if this works then i will be busting my rear all summer and actually get a nice challenge, there is a chance i would get to do more basically and i am more than ready for it (even though i make mistakes). our proposed camp has already been nicknamed the hippy camp, last year we had an eco-theme and some of our ideas build off of that.
the other is that i need to hire an assistant. i mentioned this to some moms at our school meet and great and one actually applied. Very nice lady and i have had her child in my programs. so her background on her resume has nothing to do with our work, mostly manufacturing. awkward and i could have just sent the automatic no thank you email, but i called and talked to her. i asked her if she was looking for a career change, told her about the types of jobs we do and what she needs to do this type of work. she can some see me anytime and as a volunteer she could do things in my programs to build up experience hours if she wants to work in the childcare/education field. it was hard to call since i couldn't even offer her an interview but i felt very good about how it turned out and being willing to have that conversation.
