i have an extra day off on monday but i can't get into the building then so i have to go today, i just walked out last night and didn't even take my laptop (that is rare).
i think i am finally getting this grownup up responsible job thing, there have been changes in the department that have pros and cons (and btw thank you for letting me talk so much here, i honestly do not have a real life person to talk to about work). i used to just get told how much i could have for each part of my program, get bugged when enrollment was low and given staff by Hr. Now i have a budget, i am responsible for choosing how it is spent within reason, i interview my own people and am responsible for what i spend on payroll. the shift is what i wanted, i do not like being told what to do in a way that seems random. Now the weight of it is being revealed to me! i still think it is good, in some cases i feel very free to make new decisions and in other ways i feel overwhelmed because the sticky part of my program that is just not responding to my efforts. Hey that is real for most of us! in my case it is low enrollment and attendance in what i offer. apparently that is how i will be evaluated this year for my long term career and my pay. sh**. i appreciate my supervisor being honest, and her mood was reasonable at our meeting. she offered to have me observe another program with higher enrollment and i was gracious even though i used to run 4 programs with maxed out numbers. my marketing in the past was so good that it was part of the evidence box for our grant which includes multiple schools
So saturday i am going in to catch up, clean up and mark the he** out of my programs, i am totally open to ideas! i am making a new google calendar of everything after school and posting that, i am going to have the person in charge of Facebook for our school put our more announcements, i am going to get the mommy's group in our area to post things which is new for me. i think i get to wear yoga pants and drink frothy overpriced beverages for this.
