Lately I've become more and more interested in Morocco and something I find fascinating is the process of cooking meals using a tagine pot - just curious if anyone has ever used a tagine pot here and if so, how did it work out for you?

I've got two, in different sizes.

One, I struggled home with in my hand luggage as I didn't want to put it in my suitcase., only to find the EXACT twin in a local kitchen shop!

I use it regularly, although less than years ago.

gimme - slightly off-topic.....but while I know nothing about a tagine pot, you should make your first dish in it Moroccan Chicken.

(don't know if link will work. 'puter is balky again lately.)

Anyway, I made this dish a few weeks ago just due to its being easy and having a wonderfully interesting variety of spices in it. OMG. DH and I both agreed this was something we would be wanting again and again. Special stuff. No idea if it is "authentic", but oh my it sure was good.

Um....it sounds very good and I like how this can be a vegetarian dish simply by not adding the chicken. I'll make it soon and let you know how it went.....Rob

Oh I'm sorry Rob - didn't remember, if I ever knew, that you were a vegetarian.

We suspect that part of what makes the recipe so good is the slow-stewing chicken juices.

But good luck on your tagine pot research! And Moroccan foods!
