View Full Version : Playing God in the garden
There is an article by Michael Pollan in today's NY Times by this title which I think is a very reasoned response to the proliferation of GMO foods. The description of current methods of potato farming alone has convinced me to buy organic from now on. Even the potato farmers often won't eat their own product. However, Monsanto to the rescue with their new engineered potato which has built in "pesticide". Lots of food for thought in the article - look it up if interested.

I agree with CathyA ,:(, and would suggest watching the video GMO OMG (free on YouTube, I watched it on Netflix via ROKU). Will there be any real food left? Along with organic, try to find heirloom varieties, including when you grow your own food.

I have read so much about GMOs on Facebook from reputible sources...it is so devastating to see that Monsanto, is trying to take over our food supply and are doing anything they can in order to make it happen. The FDA is filled will people in high level positions that have or do work for Monsanto. We are eating as much organic as we can. At first it was corn and soy, now they just came out with some GMO fruits. Only the people joining together and boycotting their food will stop this train-wreck from happening...

Monsanto has lost some lawsuits as mother nature fights back. I remember reading about one case where they were trying to sue a farmer next door to a farm that used their seeds, as he reused seeds out of his yard. They lost as they went there naturally and were ordered to pay for their removal from his yard.
I love corn, corn meal, corn bread, etc but am scared to eat because it's so hard to find any non-GMO corn nowadays. So sad.
