in teaching mindfulness to youth. there is a big program that includes retreats and a year long study that is much more expensive. Basically i asked for a scholarship to take one course and pay $200. there are no fully certified teachers in colorado so having a start is still better than most. i have 4 classrooms i am volunteering with right now and doing short mindfulness lessons in monthly. the school thinks it is great,
what is coming up is that as mindfulness/meditation becomes more accepted and valued it is both attracting people without the strong practice but also is getting picky for lack of a better word. so training in one area is not necessarily accepted in another, however years ago i didn't even tell people i meditated in a school setting. i guess i am just trying to get ahead of the trend since i have the years of practice (29 years!) and see how this naturally works into my career.
