um yeah, and i am the one in it that was embarrassed/cringing/learning that i am doing a pretty bad job overall or something. i am trying not to read too much into it and i sent an email to my supervisor so we can talk tomorrow before a training event when i will see all the people it was sent to and from.

So there was an email sent out about a large registration event and my site is one of the hosts. last year i did this and it was a big job but went very smoothly. i know what is not my strongest area and so i collaborated and had the person who is perfectly picky on paperwork at one station and i worked the crowd basically. recently i made an error on a registration form and the person i sent it to cc'd my supervisor back. i corrected it and went on without bringing undue attention to it. my next meeting with my supervisor was cut short basically as a fallout of no one reading my summer proposal and dealing with issues. basically that is saying that there has not been a lot of time for supervisor contact and i have been gracious about it.

in any case the email that was not supposed to be forwarded to all my colleagues had a list of sites and who was leading the registration, next to my site it had another person's name and (K has asked that ZG not be put in charge). okay it is one thing to put someone else leading my site without comment, but to specifically say that my own supervisor did not want me and have it sent to all of my colleagues. i am reminding myself that i am not responsible for their mistake in sending this to everyone. if i needed to be talked to about my work then it is their responsibility to do it professionally. still, it will be hard to walk into those meetings tomorrow or even do the work i need to do tonight.

I agree, ZG. That shows a definite lack of class and professionalism on their part.

yeah, you think? i talked to my supervisor today and she had a good answer to it and understood how that could look terrible. basically she didn't want me or the other people in my position in charge of this because we have other things to do. the registration office needs to provide a lead person and we will support. in the final draft it had the lead people from that office listed, i was not singled out to not do a job others were given basically. that makes me feel better, being spread too thin usually means something is likely to happen.

there are still other issues, but one down and a dozen to go.

Chalk it up to we have probably all hit the reply button when we shouldn't have.
