It has taken me 6 months but I have officially swapped out all of my products for organic, vegan ones and it's awesome!!! I also did not replace quite a number of things I used to use. Today, I purchased some shampoo/conditioner.

This includes shampoo/conditioner, makeup, skincare- face and body, deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, sunscreen, nail care, razor, even shampoo/conditioner for my dogs. :)

Everything I have now fits into 2 bags- 1 for makeup, 1 for the rest for when I travel. I have reduced my storage from what once took over half the counter on top, 3 baskets beneath, 1 large holder in the shower, 1 large box on my dresser and a partial drawer to everything fitting under the sink in 1 bin plus my makeup bag and then just have the 2 bottles in the shower with a body wash and razor.

I even swapped out cotton balls and swabs for organic ones. And my 2 bags are vegan and waterproof and USA made.

It has taken me time and a lot of research for products and also, being realistic in how I approach personal care.

I am working on becoming 100% Vegan but I won't be able to change out items yet, I admire your complete dedication.

Tussie- it really is dedication because I used to just grab whatever at the store but now I have a working list. My next endeavor is to only shop minimally in the middle of the store and focus on fruits, vegetables, etc..nothing pre-packaged. Again, it's a process for us but slowly getting there.

I did donate a large amount of stuff when I got to the point where I really wanted to simplify my routine and the number of products I use. It took me 2 hours (YIKES) to go through everything but it was well worth it.

That is so great that now you have a working list....we don't purchase too much prepackaged but do like some alternative food items better than homemade, like Tofutti cream cheese, sour cream and ricotta. We will use things like that. Do you make all of your Vegan food homemade? If not what do you purchase instead of making it?

That is great TxZen! Do you have any recommendations? Especially, a good organic shampoo and conditioner?

I am making food at home. We have no place around here, even the grocery store, that sells vegan. I am keeping it simple- we did grilled portabella mushrooms and instead of buns, I just made an avocado hummus dip and we at it with that. Added a nice salad with olive oil and some red wine vinegar. I am a newbie Vegan and just learning but PINTEREST has a lot of good ideas and I am scrambling to download before my internet break. LOL I did find some vegan/animal friendly shampoo at the small health food store in town..Avalon Organics..I have normal but dry hair. I don't color at all. I use baking soda to keep my white's white. :)
