View Full Version : change of address, not sure
so i went to the official USPS website to change our address and it all looked good. then they needed my debit card to charge $1.05 for verification. i am pretty sure it is the correct thing however i stopped the transaction before putting in my card number and will call the local USPS before doing it. am not at all concerned about paying $1, just don't recall ever being asked to put in debit card info. if you know this to be legit please tell me so i can get one thing off my to-do list.
thank you
I would just stop by the PO and fill out their form. If there's a fee, you can pay it there. I wouldn't use my debit card on line. The alternative would be to use a credit card or Paypal on a secured page.
Its legit. I've done it the last few times we moved. Very convenient to do this online.

It's free if you change your address at the post office or get a change of address card at the post office. The $1.05 online fee has something to do with proving you are who you say you are. Otherwise, anyone could go online and change anyone's address--so they add a small fee and an extra step when you do it online.
it is a great timesaver for $1! i don't even know where a post office is anymore
