This whole story is unbelievable! I dislike everything about TX except George Strait and Willie Nelson! And Austin. Austin is cool and there are some very intelligent and progressive people there. And a lot to see and do. Other than that I will say that for the most part, once you leave Austin, I am not very sympatico with Texas personally BUT I will say that it does offer somewhat affordable housing and the job market is better than the nation as a whole. How the lower price of a barrel of crude is going to affect this last remains to be seen.
One more thing - though I'm not the Texas type I will say Texas has an interesting history. There is a Texas History Museum in downtown Austin I went to and it was so interesting. Three floors of exhibits and displays of Texas history. There was even a recreation of Stephen Austin's (the man Austin is named for) jail cell in Mexico City when Texas was on the brink of breaking from Mexico.....amazingly life like and real. Rob

Yowsa. I just did some googling to find out about this and it just seems unreal. I'm thinking that most people out there are not going to believe this. Rob

Is this thread about the armed forces training activities to take place between July and September of this year?
For Desert Storm operations, Scott Air Force Base used the empty City Hospital complex, one block from where I live, as training grounds to simulate Beruit. The Blackhawks swooped and dived around our neighborhood, making ungodly noise. It came as a surprise, let me tell you. That was, what, 25 years ago? My neighbors just mentioned that incident last week because it left a big impression on those of us here at the time.

Ok took me awhile to find the story, but no it's not really unbelievable, the spin on it is though. (i mean first i had to find a bunch of old paranoid stories about la raza and media gag orders - as if they were necessary when the media just doesn't talk about what it doesn't want to). But then I found the actual "story" people are probably referring to.
this is the story I guess in not just non but anti-conspiratorial form:

here's the conspiracy version:

Why did I instinctively know it's not unbelievable even when reading Alex Jones? Because military trainings HAVE taken place on U.S. soil before, and have been reported in what I remember being reputable sources, military planes circling and training in major u.s. cities etc..
What is potentially quite true: the training very well could be for a possible revolutionary scenario in the U.S. (and no possible doesn't mean an attempt at revolution is likely, merely potential) and not just for the wars in the middle east. Can I prove it? I don't think anyone could unless they had a leak of that type of stuff.
What is the spin? That purely Republican red states and the right would be considered hostile while blue states would be considered friendly. This strikes me as ABSURD. Now different groups may be considered more or less of a threat at different times, right wing militias do end up on various government terrorist groups, but on the left so do environmental groups, so have protestors been called terrorists, so has occupy wall street (oh there's been government documents to liken them to terrorists if I remember). Not to mention occupy wall street was cracked down on by a coordinated multi-state strategy.
“I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,’ and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution,” - Texas congressman
yea, yea, on the latter point so does the ACLU. But then he's just playing to the rubes I guess.
“It’s a question I’m getting a lot, and I think part of the reason is we have seen, for six years, a federal government disrespecting the liberty of the citizens. - Ted Cruz
oh the lies, they burn, they burn! I mean the major lie here is of omission, it talks about the last 6 years. The torture report that details out in the open torture before the last 6 years, down the memory hole, right?
The thing is the idea of the military training doing these trainings across (wide swaths?) of U.S. soil IS probably worthy of questioning. Although noone ever questions the government if their side holds the reign. I wonder if you'd find many other countries that do this. But then those other countries aren't trying to be military empires dominating the globe ...

If it were a secret military operation to take over Texas, why would it be publicized so freely?
The scope of this operation is large, but other than that it is very little different from the countless smaller exercises that go on all the time in the US.
And I know from my family members in the military that NATO at least runs similar exercises in Europe frequently.
Could this country get any sillier?
Big exercises are conducted all the time in the Southwest. Why this one should rise to the level of Bradley-Manning-will-never-live-to-see-trial silliness probably has more to do with a slow news day than a putsch against the bitter clingers.
"They" will probably be the same ones screaming "Why weren't they trained?" if anything did happen.
I've already got on my calendar to be a 'victim' for next year's local area-wide emergency training event. Just doing my part.

That's what you want us to think, but how do we know you're not just fronting for the Space Lizard conquest?

The shape-shifting ones? Don't they already control half the world leadership? I think they should either go big or go home.
