i am doing a class online about teaching mindfulness in education. really good class, and i went to the big conference this weekend since it was held in Denver and i was able to work at it for a reduced rate. i am feeling really connected to this upsurge in education. Meanwhile my department is even worse, i wrote about it in other posts but yesterday another person put in notice who has been doing this at a school for 8 years and does a great job. i finally got a living wage and this place is falling apart, we will see what happens.
so my homework was to explain mindfulness in education to an adult and i talked to the principal of summer school who is sharing my building. i think i did a good job because at the end he asked how much it cost! that brings up issues about if i can work for someone totally different within my district and i am sure i can't, but long term if i can build a business doing that may be interesting, i know there is one non-profit doing this in Denver already. meanwhile i am just going to enjoy my real living wage!
