This is a new forum for me and I had to share this.
Below the Ecocapsule is a solar car-bike. I wanted to post them together because they pair so nicely. Both are extremely sustainable and simple and together I think they offer a new vision for how we could live.

Those capsules look like something from a sci fi movie. :~)

Much prefer a Monolithic dome to a glorified mini trailer that a Tornado will love.
I think one could do better to learn the skills and build a tricycle themselves then spend $5k plus for it, personally.

I think they are really cool, but with 30-70 mph straight-line winds common, and roads and streets full of pickup trucks that weigh between 1750 lbs. to 4550 lbs. driving 45-mph IN town, these won't be plentiful here in Kansas. The little egg-shaped trailer would need some 200-mph tethers (and a prayer). I've seen what wind and tornadoes can do to mobile home parks!!!! And I also wondered, where are the batteries? We have a bank of batteries for our solar back-up, and it's just a fraction of what we would actually need to get off the grid, and a battery plant who produces them so we could get new ones - they aren't a good renewable resource. We just recently replaced ONE battery in our Prius to the tune of $265.81, so it can't be inexpensive.

I haven't been within a hundred miles of a tornado, so I guess I don't think like that.

Toomuchstuff, when you build a tricycle that can go faster than 30 miles an hour that has the capacity for passengers as well as using solar power for a zero carbon footprint, I'll help you with the start up costs.

So many trips are made that don't require much cargo, don't require long distances and don't require speed.
Yet, millions of people add to the pollution, get no exercise and fund oil and gas companies and foreign oil kingdoms.

Well, I choose to stay in shape, save the earth, and boycott as much oil as possible, for obvious reasons.
Not to mention, save on the usual expenses associated with a car.
But that's just crazy me.
