what a good problem to have!

my program is busting at the seams. i am starting my 4th year at my site and have been working on building the program (before and after childcare) all these years. i am on a wait list for after school care and i just stopped registration for before school care and put that on a wait list. i am adding a couple people per day on my wait list. i already pushed my limit on how many to enroll because i have some people who are with Americorps in our building who do after school homework club so i can go over ratio because so many kids go to homework (otherwise i have an assistant or i step into program when we are over). i had 36 kids after school yesterday and 20 in the morning!! that is huge for me!

i am a little nervous that i will get in trouble for over registering but since i have a plan to manage it i think it will be okay. one supervisor said everyone should be on a wait list another keeps saying build the program and the manager above them said to let the supervisors at site make the decision if we have a plan. And i am going to start the seeking to hire process.

Follow your own wisdom but come up with a plan that anticipates the arguments and have it written down so that you can simply forward it cc'ing all who have a say if necessary.

okay good idea, i can show that i followed an idea last year and pulled out a staff when we had really low numbers to lead clubs, so that shows we have really low numbers during a period of time and after that time of clubs a staff person can go back to the larger group and we will be well staffed. i don't know if that is confusing but it makes sense in my working world.
