View Full Version : Seinfeld Chains - September
My chain commitment is 15 minutes of kitchen cleanup daily, 15 minutes of bathroom cleanup, 15 minutes on paper, and 15 minutes on a "special project," i.e. a specific small category to evaluate and declutter. (a drawer, box, shelf, etc.)
That's an hour a day, and it has made such a huge difference in my living space! It's a joy to go into the clean kitchen in the morning, etc.
I'm at maintenance on the paper now, and will spend my 15 minutes tomorrow discontinuing some of the catalogs, etc. that have crept back into my mail. Need to cut down on the inflow, it's taking too much of my time to deal with it, and now I see how it got to be such a problem again.

Mschrisgo2 it sounds like you're doing a great job! Clean kitchens in the morning are so nice! I early get that because we tend to eat dinner late (due to dh schedule) and I have chores to do. By the time I'm cleaning the kitchen, dh is complaining that I need to come to bed because We have to get up early.
I am still struggling and all over the place. I'm not great with transitions and everything seems to be in transition lately!
I've been managing pottery OR garden every day, but not both. I've also been trying to figure out the most important task of the day and do that first.

Hi all, I have come back to join you...I was doing so good in July and early Aug when I was doing this so I need to try again
This is my revised list from July....I now know the original was too ambitious AND was too much to keep up but, of course you all and I knew that.....lol
1.---30 min first think on getting up dress/hygiene/bed made/quick pick up of house/breakfast/coffee...yes done yesterday the deal with this one is to do it all including
getting dress/ and make bed in the first 30 minutes upon getting up was not happening in retirement years and it has been making my whole day more productive.
2.---30 min of decluttering in house and or garage and/or posting online sales.....Done
3.---30 min of exercise or walk,,,Done
4---30 min of house cleaning or yard work....Just did a general tidy up/dusting/swiffering/bathroom yesterday
5.---30 min of finances and decluttering computer/pictures and/or doing Club books,,,,,,Not done
Number one is happening all the time now. Just to get try for the rest
See you later today... So yesterday I did 4 of 5 good start to the month hopfully with the smaller list I can keep it up.

Looks all pretty, neat and organized and best of all up to date

5.---30 min of finances and decluttering computer/pictures and/or doing Club books,,,,,,not Done.....

Danna, I don't know how you can do your whole morning routine in 30 minutes. I have been up for 35 minutes. I mad dh breakfast, fed the cat, and packed dh lunch. Now I'm drinking coffee in my bathrobe. He showered, dressed, ate and is about to leave for work, but he in't have to fix his own food, and he definitely didn't clean anything up or make the bed.
Good morning Chicken Lady You are right about the 30 min but, I mean only me...no Dh, no cat, no kids they are all gone, and I only shower every 2nd day and I do that in the afternoon before I
go out and dress in something a little better then house clothes which is what I put on in the morning....I feel more productive dressed. And, when I am saying a quick pick up of
the house that would only be, dirty clothes off the bedroom floor, a glasses from the living room that sort of thing.
I have always set my coffee machine up when I wash it the day before and sometimes breakfast gets eaten watching a news show after this.

2.---30 min of decluttering in house and or garage and/or posting online sales.....Done... cleaned out one stuff type drawer in bedroom dresser and sorted stockpile of cards
3.---30 min of exercise or walk,,,Not Done I need to find someway to get myself into this habit I am using a Fit Bit to track steps but, so far even that is not getting me moving.
4---30 min of house cleaning or yard work....Done on the 4th
5.---30 min of finances and decluttering computer/pictures and/or doing Club books,,,,,,not Done.....
