Reflection

I started my simple living/minimal living when I was 16. It didn't have a title or name back then and I tend not to try to stay too attached to labels but I am entering my 25th year of following the idea of simple and minimal living.

It has changed over the years, as I have matured, gotten married, had a child, pets, life happens, it all has ebbed and flowed.

I am looking forward to the next 25 years and all the changes coming. :)

I remember as a young child my mother commenting that I was "picky". I would not spend money on something unless it was something I REALLY wanted and fit perfectly (if clothes). I have always saved and watched my money. Never understood the "high" of shopping.

It all started when I was poor in $$ and grew from there. I hate to spend money and evaluate if it is really worth it in the longterm. I will buy some luxury items because they are worth it but usually choose for the sustainable quality of fewer items. I have blouses that I love and wear that I bought in 1994.

i do go nuts on footwear by comparison to other items in my life but again they are Merrells that last well and are so comfortable.
