I wonder if this means that electro convulsive treatments are over-kill?

I wonder what the long-term effects would be. I know it's been used for awhile......but still.........

First I've heard of it. The second link didn't work for me.
I used a stim machine for pain relief but it never did much for me. I'm kind of skeptical.
