I had my supervisor meeting which included my improvement plan update. I had not seen it before then but it went well. She said I was doing very well which helps, it is really hard to participate in this of course. Just hard to sit and face mistakes no matter what. I want to argue and defend because there is so much that came out of feeling I didn't have what I needed to do my job, then falling apart as well. I read quotes about failure on a regular basis to get through it.

Good thing was that there was one thing listed on the plan that I questioned. It had to do with the bills for my students and I think it is on there quite honestly because of my refusal to back down on some things. You do not go up against the operations team! So I got things taken care of but took a beating in a meeting. So I told my supervisor that I had followed that procedure with all the scholarships I submitted, and she crossed that off. It helps that there has not been one similar issue this year and I haven't needed to get involved because things are running well on their end. Whew, I don't agree with everything but I think that was a clear one and I can (and should) leave the rest alone.

I just noticed that the length is 90 days. Yeah! I was so worried because I want to consider applying for a job that will be open in January. I need to see if the job description is clear and if I feel the department is looking for what I bring. I also noted there was a long sentence about following all department policies, payroll, hiring, budget, etc. and that I am running like all the other programs and that was marked completed. I did ALL of that through the beginning of the year very very carefully. Honestly I am working a lot and tired but I have solid evidence that I am doing the job.

With my work on the communication task force I am so encouraged. I am hearing horrible stories from last year that are very similar to mine. Lots of people who were ignored when they offered to do things like training, or told multiple conflicting procedures, or simply talked to rudely. We are reporting back to the highest management on our findings and recommendations.
