I spent some time looking around this forum today and I can see that many of my interests and concerns are mirrored here. Living in ways that are low-impact, a moderate level of preparedness (especially after reading Ted Koppel's book recently), love of gardening, and more!

I've only been to Silver City once, decades ago, but it intrigued me then and now.

i lived in Kas Cruces for a few year back in the early 80's when
I was working my first librar job.

I was working my first librar job.

This place is crawling with library people! Maybe I can be off-topic for a moment and mention that 3 years ago, on my 70th birthday, I began a trilogy of cozy mysteries (mysteries set in cute places that go easy on the violence and sex) with the series title of "The Curious Librarian." Actually that's not so off-topic as I bring out simple living concepts now and then in the books. But after 3, I was done writing about murder.

Thanks, yes we do. One of the reasons we moved to southern NM was for the gardening too.
