Okay Jake, you came out unscathed and scored one for minimalism.

hmmm, I missed the ukulele in your posts

I thought the woman was good as well, less extreme. You can see by the picture she is nicely dressed with hair colored and make up on, big statement necklace that are in fashion with young women. She makes it sound do-able.

Nice! I like anything that shows the "regular" way of life isn't the only one.
This is also why I want to move again - minimalism groups and better transportation options to get to them.

That's is great, UL! and nice job of mentioning this website. We will get increased traffic the next couple of days, I'll bet.

One thing I find curious about current minimalists mentioned is that they are primarily in the same age range, ie young. I wonder why? Twenty years ago when I first got interested in simple living, there was a much larger age range attending our meetings. 20s to 70s. Now, I can't find local adherents of any age. Around here these days, just the opposite lifestyle is the way.

Not sure about the single young demographic being the main one mentioned as minimalists. Maybe they market themselves better? My husband and I live in a 580 squ ft studio apartment and share one vehicle. Even our small space has empty shelves and walls. We're in our 50s.

But we don't blog or write books about it. No marketing so no public knowledge of our demographic perhaps?

I don't think it's a mistake, that's a real site.

First, thankfully they used the right picture, she is a lot cuter then you. (looked more early 20's to me then what they said her age was)

I do think there are a lot of reasons why we see more young and older (not a lot of stuff starting out, low money, and older wanting to get rid of stuff and low money) minimalists. In between, with/when having kids, one tends to accumulate, in part because of the kids. (Jake, do you own a thermometer?)
However, now, with social media so prevalent, I expect it is easier to find like minded people, IF you don't minimalize the digital aspect of your life. (less apt to connect without computer/smart phone, etc) That and you might not find it worth your time to try to seek out the fewer of your kind, rather then seek out the experiences you want to enjoy, instead. (all about choices and having the money to do more of them)

Well, yet another instance of me skimming over words.
No one is going to hire me as a proof reader.

But going with my original idea, maybe UL could plug this site on his local Ohio site.

Yes that is the site for a local group I am a member of here. Sorry this one didn't make it into the article! :(

Jake, please answer that you have a thermometer, the nurse has to know. If not throw out article 99 and make #100 a thermometer. TIA

Yup, I have one. I don't have anyone to take care of me when I am sick. So I do it myself.
