So I made this beautiful skirt for the holidays, I wore it to my sister's christmas party and it looked awesome. One lady really noticed that it was well made (lined and I finally got a professional looking hem). But the hips were a little too tight, waist was okay since I didn't do the darts at all (middle age waist is non-existent). So I knew I wanted to let out the hips 1/4 inch on each side, the lining was tighter than the skirt so I had some ease to work with on that. I got all that done and was very happy, put it on for Christmas Eve and just couldn't wear it due to tightness. I really don't like using the larger size because I hate baggy skirts. Very sad now,
Then I realized that my period started today. So between sitting for almost a week (instead of walking at work like I do for a few hours a day) and bloating I can see it will fit again. Whew, I am going on walks over the break now and watching some soda I was drinking, but still this middle age thing is driving me crazy when I sew for an amazing fit I can't get off the rack and then my body just does something else. I am not giving into frumpy clothes though!
