I know it is early... and I won't even be out there jigging the trout until March... but I was thinking of a fishing challenge for the 2016 season.
2013 season was focused on catching catfish. 2014 season was jigging big bluegills on public water. 2015 was catching crappie (not just in the spring, but also in the tougher summer!)
This year I am considering focusing on catching saugeye, but... I am also strongly considering going very "low tech" -- keeping it super-simple -- and fishing with a bamboo cane pole and perhaps hand-lining or using a "hobo reel."
Any outdoorsy types on here done much of this? Thoughts?
