Thoughts on this? Marrying one's self could be a form of simple living... God knows marrying another person certainly complicates life!

This is what happens when you go messing around with the definition of marriage.
what does she write on her tax forms?
Why not just have a party?
Seems weird to me, but whatever. Worse things to do with one's time.

really, especially as some people do up the big 10 year birthdays a lot anyway. It harms noone really to invent your own rituals, but it seems to be based on a lot of really false premises, like if you aren't married at 40 you won't be or something. Lies, all lies. Of course there is no guarantee you would meet someone you want to marry even if you want to marry - that much is true, there are precious few guarantees in life.
Commentators calling it self absorption seem silly, I mean from my point of view spending what weddings cost on a marriage to someone else is odd, when eloping is cheap.
what does she write on her tax forms?
ah ha, now that might be a good reason to marry yourself, to be able to write married have ones brackets reduced etc.. Sounds good.
Love it! She footed the bill and gave everyone a wonderful party and something to think about as well. Why not?

what does she write on her tax forms?
I suspect she merely had a theatrical ceremony and a party, as I don't see a marriage license getting issued for this. If she writes "married" on her tax forms and files improperly, then I suspect she'll be talking to the IRS at some point...
As to this being the result of "messing around with the definition of marriage", piffle.

Just have a big b-day party. Strange but it didn't hurt anyone. Probably a big waste of $.

what does she write on her tax forms?
Show us the current definition please?
I would expect it still says TWO people.
Would think she would be facing tax fraud (or insurance fraud if using it on a form)
Not sure what was meant by the original title (but not for the reason you think), but my mind went to go **** yourself, and her thinking no, before marriage.:laff:
