Satire or not, my future son in law is a huge fan of 1,2, and 5. There was a significant arguement when my daughter went out and bought (gasp) a bed frame for their floor mattress with grey sheets ensemble. Most of his side of the arguement consisted of facial expressions.

Well at least gray looks quite good on me, which is more than I can say about black or white.

Pretty funny. Many years ago, a college art school friend went through a phase where she claimed she could answer almost any situation with 3 phrases: "the best!" "the worst!" "the ultimate!"
Early minimalism?

Those are great. I have found myself gravitating to gray clothing in recent years.

Wearing gray may accentuate my gray hairs when I'm late in getting it recolored. I'm more of a "khaki and ...." dress code.

It's funny to me how this trend in minimalism is turning into "Keeping up with the Minimalists". How few things can you own? I'm more of a Kondophile--keeping what I love. It would be nice to have a lot less stuff, but I like looking at things and having choices.

Isn't sleeping on a mattress on a floor a bit cold?

A mattress on a platform is as far as I go. Unless it's a futon you can roll up and stash, a mattress on the floor just shouts flophouse.
