I tried. I Dont grok.

perhaps because it is the cocktail hour, but i cannot get this. the writing style is galloping and irreverant and that I like. But I dont understand the main idea. I dont think that there IS a main idea.:~)

Humor is so subjective (and I'm having some wine myself), but I was vastly amused by this spoof on minimalism, especially gems like
"The only furniture you need is a single smooth stone that reminds you of your mother."

I think it's just a spoof, as rosa said--my favorite was this:

"Throw away everything in your dirty laundry hamper. If a piece of clothing really mattered to you, you wouldn’t let it get dirty."

And the photo of the refrigerator with just an apple--genius.

This one made me laugh:

consider getting rid of your hands. They clutter up the arms.
And that IS after some pinot grigio.

I think it also helps if you're at least somewhat familiar with that Kondo Marie decluttering technique that is so popular.

For this to be funny you will have had to read the book which I did and was laughing so hard. Thanks!

For me, it read more like a script for stand-up comedy, lots of one liners.
