1. I don't think they are similar.
2. My avatar is the symbol of my people.

Why do you keep changing it? I find that to be annoying.

I change it because I like to mix things up. :)

You can find it annoying. I find keeping the same ol' avatar to be something an old fuddy would do. ;)

I like it. What people do you identify with?

Atheist. The symbol is just the "atheist A."

What is the difference between an atheist convention and a Star Trek convention?

Nothing! haha

Sincerely, if you find it visually confusing and think it might make navigating responses and such difficult for you or others I am not opposed to choosing something different. Just let me know.

Hey! Stop stealing my avatar!

BTW, who are "your people"? I don't recognize the symbol.

I'm cool with it as long as people don't confuse our posts! haha

Oh I thought it was a stylized anarchist symbol. Your people, yea, yea, anarchist revolution is right around the corner ... and shouldn't an anarchist be a little less exclusionary in dividing the world into their people and not, well of the 99 percent or working class that is. I guess the slant of the A is very different, less militant, and the circle is unclosed.

It is an origami German shepherd. I made it for my sis and BIL since they love German shepherds. They got a kick out of it, snapped a pic, and then I threw it away.

They did not want to keep it. It was more like: "Check out this German Shepherd I made for you guys."

They were like: "We didn't know you could origam. That's crazy!"

Sounds like someone missed a lot at those Star Trek conventions.
Most of the recurring cultures had strong spirituality, mythology, and gods.

The bible has been translated into Klingon, also.

It is more a joke about the demographic of those in attendence -- nerdy white guys.

I don't even know how to change an avatar. But now that we are into it, someone tell me how and I will come up with something new.

I don't even know how to change an avatar. But now that we are into it, someone tell me how and I will come up with something new.Click on 'Settings' in the top right corner of the page, then click on 'Edit Avatar' in the left hand column. From there you can upload a photo from the web or from your computer.

Yup, I will delete paper dog's pic.

I learn little oddball tricks and skills here and there. ;)

Even I was able to post an avatar, and I still don't know how to post a photo. I have some sort of block. I am so behind with technology. I have figured out how to post photos on Facebook. I'm getting the hang of it.

The origami German shepherd cracks me up, as well.

It doesn't always work.
At one time I had an avatar, but sometime after (some sort of system update here), it went away. Also the photo posting process changed. (was more complicated the last time I uploaded a photo).
Still, UL hasn't changed his avatar to a Packard or a Pizza yet.:laff:

You can use whatever symbol you want, but if you use the atheist symbol that is black background/white image, that distinguishes it from Catherine's for my eyes.

Is origam a verb meaning "make origami"?
