Today, 2/17, this book on living on less and minimalism is free for kindle owners. Can't speak to the book's insight or info but I'm generally pleased when I get one thoughtful idea. And the price is right.

"When switching to a minimalist mindset you will also notice an increase in your intelligence." What?
This book, while well-intended, is confused and poorly written. The writer has not sorted out the difference between minimalist design and minimalist philosophy, which leads to frequent contradictions. It is quite a muddle!

Oh. My. Maybe author means, because you're not managing schtuff, you have more brain cells to focus on other things?
This freebie was announced via BookBub.com. I've received some treasures from them in the past. Shame this may not be one of them.

One thing I thought that was good in the book was the discussion of how keeping on a schedule can simplify your life and make you healthier. If you only eat at specific times, then you won't have cravings or think about food as you would if you were always grazing. Not revolutionary, but having routines for house keeping and exercise and cooking all help save time and keep you from forgetting stuff.

I actually do that, Gardenarian. Little things really, but I am trying to create more good, mini habits.
Example: I feed the cat 2x/day. I scoop droppings while she is hovered over her dish. It's the 1st Saturday of the month? Time for a deep litter box clean and a fresh fill of scoopable (rather than merely scooping and adding, as I do the rest of the month).
I take all my supplements but Calcium as part of my morning routine; it's my night routine. I keep the calcium next to the makeup remover and moisturizer in the medicine cabinet.
Little stuff like that.
