View Full Version : How can I play stories for walking

I am fairly computer savvy, but this has me stumped.
I want to go on walks and listen to stories. I have a laptop (which I don't take with me) and a little ASUS tablet that I could carry.

I tried getting a story from youtube, but halfway through the walk I lost the internet.

My question then is how do I find audio books to download to this little ASUS and how do do it? I don't mind paying a small fee if they are good stories.

Thanks

I think you can get books through Audible and download them to your tablet but how about Podcasts? I love those, IDK if they are only for Apple devices, I'm sure there is a non-Apple equivalent and they are free

my friends have Android phones and they find podcasts under Google Play but google it because I don't think they use the term "podcast", they call them something else

I download audio books from the library a lot. They have a couple of formats. I have blue tooth enabled earphones, listen to books while washing dishes, cooking, cleaning house etc.

I have a little old [cheap] Sansa Sandisk mp3 player I've had for years...it just keeps chugging along. I download free books and short stories from Librivox [public domain] onto my laptop then copy them over to my Sandisk.

I used to download This American Life podcasts from Chicago Public Radio's website and listen to those.
