right in the thick of trying to figure out what is causing multiple neuro issues. She was awesome, I've had so many test for things I've never heard of. She has assured me that I do not present as someone with early onset dementia, something I fear with long term and short term memory occurring . My primary has been easing me into "sometimes we never know the cause, we just treat the symptoms" but the neuro said nope to that and said she wasn't giving up. And then she bailed. She was the strongest member of my team. I have an appt with her partner and the nurse swears he will look at the multitude of documentation in my chart, review all the tests, etc. But I know nothing about him. I have a call into my primary, I want the best neurologist in the city and the ones I knew from the hospital are all old now and I want someone who is up to date and looking for a challenge, which does not exactly describe them, despite being very good in their hey day. Ugh, I am so sick of 3 steps forward, 2 back.

I am so sorry! Why did she quit? I mean, is it just your case, or is she leaving that practice? Or?

she left the practice but she didn't even notify her patients. I called her nurse Monday to make sure she would be ok with the sleep center starting with some easier tests first and the nurse called back to say the doc said it was fine. Something must've been brewing for her to leave so suddenly like that.

Did you ask the practice why she left? Sometimes a departure like that is a red flag. Other times it's a non-compete clause. Both othose will be "we can't tell you."

the nurse wouldn't say anything but that she quit and they were shocked. She has a thriving practice in Massachusetts and only came here on Mondays. She maybe decided to do 5 days at her other practice. But that it happened so suddenly, patients were not sent letters or notified in any way seems suspicious. I only knew because my father was getting referred by his neurosurgeon to a neurologist and I told him she was great. Now I want to know, I'm nosey. I am going to write her a letter requesting she give my details to whomever I end up with and the plan she told me she had in place for next steps.
